Madonna Makes a Dig at BET After the Network Dissed Her Prince Tribute in a Since-Deleted Tweet

Madonna Hits Back at BET After BBMAs Prince Tribute Diss

Madonna is standing by her show-closing Prince tribute at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards

In a new Instagram post, the 57-year-old star fired back at BET for a critical, since-deleted tweet they shared during last Sunday's show.

"Wearing the jacket Prince gave me back in the day without permission from BET," Madonna wrote alongside a laughing emoji. "Lol! God Bless America."

In the image, Madonna posed next to singer Marilyn wearing a floral motorcycle jacket and matching hat.

During the Billboard Music Awards, Madonna sat on a purple throne before performing a rendition of "Nothing Compares 2 U." She was later joined onstage by Stevie Wonder, who helped her sing the late artist's hit "Purple Rain."

BET wrote in response, "Yeah, we saw that," then, teasing their own Prince tribute, added, "Don't worry. We got you."

Several stars, including Questlove, came to Madonna's defense, with the Roots musician writing on Twitter, "Every Prince rendition will not be a life changing orgasmic xperience. Just to SING his work is brave enough...But the point is let's not get ugly with playing the 'Prince would and wouldn't approve' game."

Vietnam blocked access to Facebook during Obama visit

This much-talked about Instagram photo wasn’t the only product of President Obama’s recent visit to Vietnam. The Southeast Asian country also cut access to Facebook while the U.S. Commander-in-Chief was on its soil.
That’s according to free speech advocates at Access Now, who pulled together evidence that the social network was shuttered in its entirety over the weekend. That’s opposed to a partial block, which authorities have favored lately. Vietnam, you may recall, blocked Facebook earlier this month on account of coverage of citizen protests which spread across the social network, which counts more than 30 million members in Vietnam.
Facebook did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
The reason for the shutoff appears to be national elections, with activists telling Reuters that the social network was muted to prevent pro-democracy activists calling for a boycott.
“Internet shutdowns must never be allowed to become the new normal,” Access Now wrote on its website. “Often justified in the name of public safety, shutdowns instead cut off access to vital information, e-financing, and emergency services, plunging whole societies into fear and destabilizing the internet’s power to support small business livelihoods and drive economic development.”
The group also argued that censorship impacts trade and business, which was one of the mission statements behind Obama’s trip.
Facebook was initially blocked in Vietnam when the social network became popular in Southeast Asia five or so years ago. That initially led to a glut of localized services rising to take its place, however Facebook has become a mainstream service among Vietnam’s 90 million population in recent years.
Vietnam is far from the only country to flex its muscles to suppress social network, there are plenty of examples aside from the obvious regime of China. Vietnam’s neighbor Thailand briefly blocked Facebook less than a week after a military coup in May 2014, while Turkey’s government has restricted access to Twitter and Facebook multiple times, and Pakistan only lifted a three-year ban on YouTube this year. Elsewhere, Malaysia continues to block Medium following investigative reporting on corruption claims related to its Prime Minister.

LAWMAKERS IGNORE ZIKA CRISIS — TAKE TWO-WEEK BREAK INSTEAD

Congress leaves town with no Zika resolution, lengthy negotiations ahead

Congress abandoned the Capitol Thursday for an almost two-week break without addressing how to combat Zika, even as public health officials issue dire warnings about the spread of the mosquito-driven virus with summer approaching.
Republican leaders insist a deal can be struck soon to provide the money federal health officials say is needed to develop a vaccine. They also downplayed the risk of waiting a little longer, arguing existing money is available for the initial steps needed to help contain the virus while lawmakers resolve the larger funding fight.
“They can get to work on this problem, and there’s money in the pipeline that’s already going out the door right now,” House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) told reporters Thursday.
But with Democrats hammering Republicans over neglect on a virus that attacks pregnant women, some GOP lawmakers, particularly those in Florida and other warm-weather locales, expressed increasing anxiety about the slowly developing response as the warm weather breeds more mosquitoes.
“The CDC is saying we’re less than a month away from a mosquito [epidemic] in the U.S. I mean, I take that seriously,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), the onetime presidential contender, said this week. “These are not politicians. These are scientists and doctors that are looking at this issue and telling us, you’ve got a real problem on your hands.”
For months officials at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention have been monitoring the outbreak of Zika in South America, particularly in Brazil, where hundreds of thousands of visitors will descend in August for the Summer Olympics and then return to their native countries. Last week U.S. officials announced they are monitoring hundreds of pregnant women for Zika signs and there are growing concerns about a large outbreak in Puerto Rico.

In response to the Obama administration’s $1.9 billion Zika request, the Senate approved $1.1 billion in funding earlier this month while the House has passed legislation that would provide $648 million, which would be drawn from money already set aside for Ebola programs
In public briefings and private meetings with lawmakers health officials have cited evidence linking Zika to a rare condition causing children to be born with abnormally small heads and underdeveloped brains. Hundreds of babies in Brazil have suffered this condition, and the outbreak that has spread to three dozen countries, primarily in the Americas.
Instead of racing to fund efforts to thwart a potential health crisis, lawmakers are treating the Zika debate like regular legislation, approving Thursday the establishment of a House-Senate committee to hammer out differences in their competing bills.
Democrats have criticized the Republicans for weeks on the slow response, culminating with a media showcase Thursday on the House steps demanding that the traditional Memorial Day recess be eliminated so lawmakers could finish the issue next week.
“Republicans are going to do it again: take a week off and not going to worry about those pesky mosquitoes,” Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) said during a floor speech.
But an influential bloc of conservatives remain committed to reining in government spending, demanding cuts from other portions of the budget before allowing increased funds to battle Zika. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), a fiscal hawk, called it “weak” policy to just push another $1 billion into the effort without any assurance of the outcome, without some corresponding cuts to other federal programs.
“The big disagreement that we have and the difficulty we deal with is,” Sessions said, “should every time a billion-dollar or $2 billion project comes along, do we just borrow the money?”
Some Republicans also harbor such distrust of Obama — from executive actions on immigration, transgender issues in schools, overtime rules and other issues — that they are hesitant to release money to his administration.
These conservatives have reservations about how the government spent funds two years ago battling the Ebola outbreak, which was largely considered a success because of its very limited impact in the United States.
Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), a leader of the hard-line conservative House Freedom Caucus, called the Ebola response “certainly a success” but said that much of the roughly $2.7 billion in those funds was not spent in the most “prudent and logical manner.”
That’s led conservatives to issue many more questions about how administration officials intend to spend any Zika money.
“Not having a real plan, where that’s spent and how it’s spent, is troubling and something that has to be addressed,” Meadows said.
Others said there’s just not the same level of immediacy and understanding of this virus as there was of Ebola, where thousands of Africans were dying within weeks of contracting it, and Zika moves more slowly and federal officials also have yet to formally announce a single domestic case.
Rep. Tom Rooney (R-Fla.) cited another, more basic rationale for his inability to win over more support from his colleagues: Washington’s unusually cold, wet spring.
“That actually may have played a role in it,” said Rooney, who supports higher funding levels but suggested the weather here pushed mosquitoes to the back of lawmakers’ minds.
“Now it’s hot here,” Rooney said Wednesday outside the Capitol as the temperature crested 80 degrees, hoping his colleagues would now see the light.
Ryan and his closest allies have grown angry at the Democratic allegations that they are neglecting the issue. “To say that we are not sympathetic, understanding and balanced on the Zika issue would be wrong,” said Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Tex.), chairman of the Rules Committee.
In April, the administration redirected an initial flow of more than $500 million from Ebola funds to begin the battle against Zika as it pressed Congress to act quickly on the president’s larger funding request. Democrats do not approve of pulling more money from the leftover Ebola account, because the initial plan two years ago called for any remaining funds to be spent helping nations overseas prepare to fight the deadly disease in the future.
Still, some Republicans fear the worst outcome, both in terms of public health and what it could mean for them politically.
“Obviously in South Florida where I’m from the problem is going to intensify,” Rooney said. “Hopefully not to the point where it’s some kind of an epidemic that if we don’t get something done we are culpable for not acting on this.”

Grieving mom says 'dirty' police detective stole dead son's money after heroin overdose

Paul "Rodney" DePotter with his mother Penny DePotter.

A police detective in Rock Falls, Illinois has been arrested for stealing more than $1,700 in cash found on the body of a man who died of a heroin overdose. Detective Sgt. Veronica Jaramillo, 43, was taken into police custody on May 17, 2016 by Illinois State Police and charged with theft and official misconduct.

Investigators say the detective was assigned to the dead man's case, and stole the cash from the Rock Falls Police Department evidence locker topay her own utility bills.

Penny DePotter [WQAD]

Penny DePotter, of Dixon, Illinois first told a WQAD-TV reporter it was her son's money that was stolen.
"She took it all, every dollar of it", DePotter said.
Paul "Rodney" DePotter was found dead of a heroin overdose on December 6, 2015. His mother said he had been 21 days clean and sober, but had recently inherited about $2,500 from his grandfather. Police say $1,741 was found on DePotter's body when he died.

"I'm hurt because her bills were more important than my son. And when I called her she said, 'What more do you want me to do'?" She was cold. She was very cold", DePotter told a reporter.
"She's dirty. There's no other way around it. The lowest of the low", she said. "That money was not drug related, they had no right to keep that money. It was not drug-related", she said.

Jaramillo was placed on administrative leave Tuesday, according to the Rock Falls Police Chief Tammy Nelson.
Nelson said that any matters where Jaramillo was the lead investigator would be reviewed and reassigned.
"As this time it does not appear that any investigation or arrest handled by Sergeant Jaramillo will be impacted," said Nelson's statement.
Addiction is a disease. People who die of addiction deserve to be treated with respect. So do their families. May justice be served.

Justice Department To Seek Death Penalty For Dylann Roof

May 24 (Reuters) - Federal prosecutors will seek the death penalty for a white man accused of killing nine black parishioners at a historic church in Charleston, South Carolina, last June, the U.S. Justice Department said on Tuesday.
“The nature of the alleged crime and the resulting harm compelled this decision,” Attorney General Loretta Lynch said in a statement.
Dylann Roof, 22, is accused of opening fire on June 17, 2015, during a Bible study session at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston.
He faces 33 federal charges, including hate crimes, obstruction of religion and firearms offenses. Authorities have accused him of holding white supremacist views, saying he targeted the victims because of their race.
His federal trial had been delayed while U.S. prosecutors decided whether to seek the death penalty. Defense attorneys have said he would plead guilty if he did not face the possibility of execution.
He also faces the state death penalty if convicted of the shooting.
Roof’s attorney, Michael O’Connell, declined to comment on the prosecution’s decision when reached by phone on Tuesday. (Reporting by Letitia Stein in Tampa, Fla.; Editing by Dan Grebler and Peter Cooney)

Judge handcuffs public defender for speaking out in court

Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Conrad Hafen -- who is fighting a contested election this year -- put deputy public defender Zohra Bakhtary in handcuffs and made her sit with the criminals in the dock while he sentenced her client, who was unrepresented for the duration of the event.
Bakhtary, who has been with the public defender for three years, had been attempting to communicate mitigating argument to the judge, who repeatedly ordered her to be silent.
The judge had switched off the court cameras and microphones, something he habitually does because "he prefers transcripts recorded by an official court reporter."
On Monday, she was arguing to keep a man who had violated probation on petit larceny charges out of jail when the judge told her to “be quiet.”
Bakhtary tried to interject.
“Zohra,” the judge said.
She spoke up again: “You’re making —”
“Do you want to be found in contempt?”
“Judge, you’re asking —”
The judge once more asked her to be quiet. “Now. Not another word.”
Bakhtary then said, “Judge, you’re,” before being cut off.
Hafen turned to his marshal. “Travis, right now. I’m tired of it. Right now.”
And Bakhtary was cuffed. She sat in the jury box, alongside inmates wearing jail clothing, while the judge finished hearing the case at hand.

Drinking milk at school while black: Student arrested for larceny over 65-cent milk and racism

c04e42ae-c068-4f34-9540-521570549cf0-large16x9_MilkSuspension

Virginia authorities handcuffed a middle school student and charged him with larceny for "stealing" a milk carton from the school cafeteria earlier this year. The child has also been suspended from school.
In Prince William County, Virginia, the boy's mother Shamise Turk says police handcuffed and charged her son Ryan with stealing a carton of milk from the school cafeteria.
The school normally charges students 65 cents per carton for milk. Ms. Turk says Ryan is allowed to drink it for free, because he is registered on the school's lunch program.
Ms. Turk says one day Ryan went back to the lunch line to get his milk, and a Prince William County police officer approached him and accused him of stealing it.
Police say officers then handcuffed Ryan because the student "broke the rules and became disorderly," according to local news reports.
Ryan Turk told a local television news reporter that yes, he did pull back when the officer grabbed him.
"I yanked away from him I told him to get off of me because he's not my dad,” Ryan said.
Shamise Turk says her son was then taken to the principal's office, where officials searched the student for drugs. The school principal says "he was acting inappropriately."
"Because he was fidgety, kept pulling on the strings of his pants, and laughing when we were trying to talk to him and just wouldn't talk,” Shamise Turk said.
The school suspended her son for "theft, being disrespectful and using his cell phone."
The Prince William County Schools spokesman says, "the need for disciplinary action is determined by how a student behaves throughout any given incident...an appeals process is in place to ensure the fairness of any disciplinary action."
His mother says they're nuts.
Police told her the larceny charge is because he tried to "conceal" the milk, which Ryan denies.

He cannot go to school, and if the charges are upheld, he has a juvenile record and will have trouble getting into college or finding employment, among a host of other damaging things this does to young black men in America. "I'm angry, I'm frustrated, I'm mad. It just went too far. They are charging him with larceny, which I don't have no understanding as to why he is being charged with larceny when he was entitled to that milk from the beginning," said Ms. Turk.

ANOTHER TRUMP WHOPPER: FLIPS ON SELF-FUNDING!

Donald Trump’s Breathtaking Flip-Flop On ‘Self Funding’

Trump railed against his rivals for being bought by special interests. He’s now cozying up to the same special interests.

Donald Trump told the Associated Press that the Republican National Committee encouraged the new fundraising effort.
WASHINGTON — Donald Trump on Monday met privately with New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, a top GOP fundraiser who previously supported former presidential candidate Jeb Bush, according to The New York Times.
On Tuesday, Trump’s campaign announced that Johnson would serve as a vice chair for the Trump Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee set up by the campaign and the Republican National Committee. Donors to the apparatus may contribute far larger amounts than in previous elections — up to $450,000 apiece. (Likely Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton struck a similar agreement with the Democratic National Committee.)
But Trump has boasted, time and time again, about self-funding his campaign. It is one of his most popular lines among his supporters. Moreover, he has repeatedly accused his rivals of being beholden to billionaires, special interests and lobbyists simply by taking their money.
During a February speech in New Hampshire, Trump suggested that Johnson, who was born to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical family, would impede Bush from renegotiating Medicare drug prices, as Trump has promised to do.
NBC reported:
Trump predicted Jeb Bush would avoid taking on the issue as president because Woody Johnson, whose family founded Johnson & Johnson, served as his campaign chairman.
“I have no friends, as far as I’m concerned,” Trump said. “You know who my friends are? You’re my friends.”
By contrast, Trump said his private fortune would enable him to say no to wealthy interests after the election. He’s complained recently that he doesn’t get enough credit for self-financing — Trump does accept campaign donations, but he and Bernie Sanders are the only two major candidates turning down super PAC support.
“I don’t need your money, I need your vote,” Trump said.
The same Johnson is now working for Trump in a similar role.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Trump denied the contradiction between his earlier campaign promises and the new fundraising effort because he is “raising money for the party.”
That’s simply not the case. As the AP noted, the terms of the agreement stipulate that the first $5,400 of every check raised goes to Trump’s primary and general election accounts. The rest goes to the RNC and 11 state parties. Moreover, even though the RNC will use the money it receives toward electing House and Senate candidates, it also spends a significant amount of time and resources on voter identification and turnout for the presidential election — efforts that will surely benefit Trump.
Trump spun the fundraising arrangement as something that was put upon him by the RNC, one that he only agreed to reluctantly.
“The RNC really wanted to do it, and I want to show good spirit,” Trump told the AP. “‘Cause I was very happy to continue to go along the way I was.”

Cosby Ordered To Stand Trial For Felony Sex-Assault

Bill Cosby

The judge ruled that there was enough evidence for the entertainer to be criminally tried on charges that he attacked a woman in 2004 after giving her drugs.

NORRISTOWN, Pa., May 24 (Reuters) - A Pennsylvania judge ordered Bill Cosby to stand trial for sexual assault, ruling on Tuesday that there was enough evidence for the entertainer to be criminally tried on charges that he attacked a woman in 2004 after giving her drugs.
The ruling came after a preliminary hearing that Cosby, 78, attended in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Witnesses testified about statements that Cosby and his accuser, Andrea Constand, gave to police in 2005 about the incident.
Cosby said “thank you” to the judge after she announced her decision.

Niger Delta Avengers blow up Escravos pipeline again

File photo of pipeline explosion

Suspected members of the Niger Delta Avengers have attacked another oil facility in the Niger Delta, blowing up the Escravos pipeline linking Warri to Lagos.
Details of the attack are still sketchy with security officials declining to comment.
The Niger Delta Avengers, which has claimed responsibility for recent attacks, has yet to comment on the attack.
The group had attacked the pipeline in February.
The damage is, however, expected to worsen the country’s energy crisis, with power generation below 2,000 megawatts and oil production down to 1.4 million from 2.2 million barrels per day.

BREAKING: Court jails ex-NIMASA boss, Omatseye for five years

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has sentenced a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration Safety Agency, Mr. Raymond Omatseye, to five years in prison for a N1.5bn contract scam.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arraigned for engaging in contract splitting and bid rigging estimated at over N1.5bn while he was the DG of NIMASA.
The offence, according to the EFCC, contravened Section 58(4) (d) of the Public Procurement Act, 2007.

Omatseye was also charged with money laundering contrary to Sections 14(a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2004.

Rescued girl, Serah Luka, not on our list – Chibok parents

Campaigners on Friday questioned a Nigerian military claim that a second Chibok schoolgirl had been rescued, but the army maintained she was one of the 219 abducted by Boko Haram.
Yakubu Nkeki, the head of the Chibok Abducted Girls Parents group, told the AFP the military contacted him before an announcement was made on Wednesday about the discovery of the first girl, Amina Ali.
“We were able to identify her and then establish her parents,” he told AFP. But there was no call before Nigeria’s army announced late Thursday that a second schoolgirl had been rescued.
She was said to be Serah Luka, who was among 97 women and children rescued earlier that day in the Damboa area of the northeastern state of Borno.
She told troops and civilian vigilantes she was a Christian pastor’s daughter originally from Madagali, in neighbouring Adamawa state, and had been in Chibok to sit her exams.
Nkeki said his records showed only two girls with the surname Luka.
“These are Kauna Luka Yana and Naomi Luka Dzakwa. Among the list of pare nts we have only four priests and none of them is Luka,” he added.
“Among the girls none of them is from Madagali. They were either from Chibok, Damboa, Askira and Uba (all in Borno state). So I can say… that this girl is not among the abducted Chibok girls.
“We were never contacted by the military for verification of the girl’s identity before the announcement was made.”
A human rights activist in Mubi, Adamawa, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitive nature of his work, also said a Serah Luka was not on the list of the missing.
A senior Nigerian military source said it was “beyond reasonable doubt” that the schoolgirl was among the 219 held by the Islamists since the kidnapping on April 14, 2014.
“The military personnel who carried out the rescue operation and the civilian vigilantes who assisted them and those who know the girl confirmed that she is among those abducted,” he said.

“We can only change our position if the principal of the school or the government of Borno state come out and refute this established identity of the girl.”

Militants shift attack to Bayelsa, bomb Agip gas pipeline; demand release of Kanu, Dasuki

…Demand release of Nnamdi Kanu, Dasuki, defreeze of Tompolo’s bank accounts YENAGOA- A new militant group, Red Egbesu Water Lions, has surfaced in the Niger Delta region, just as suspected militants, Tuesday night, blew up the Sagbama-Tuomo gas line, belonging to Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC, at Egbembiri, Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State . A security source, who confirmed the explosion, said: “Egbembiri is a border town between Bayelsa and Delta states. They destroyed the Ayama section of the Ogboinbiri-Tuomo gas pipeline with dynamites at about 9.00 pm on Tuesday. That line was earlier repaired, last week and again vandalized.” “We, however, suspect that dispute over the surveillance contract led to the attack. The Agip pipeline links major oil facilities in Delta and Bayelsa States,” he added. The new militant group in a statement by its Creek Network Coordinator, “General” Torunanawei Latei, said it was teaming up with the Niger Delta Avengers and Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. “It issued the Federal Government a seven-day ultimatum to release Nnamdi Kanu, former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki and direct EFCC to defreeze the bank accounts of ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupol, alias Tompolo, Threatening to shut down all oil exploration activities in the Niger Delta at the expiration of the ultimatum, the group also demanded “unconditional immediate payment to victims of the Bonga Oil Spill and Chevron gas explosion in Koluama, Bayelsa state.” “It is extremely important to note that the engine room of the national interest is the executive obedience to court orders, protection and preservation of citizens’ constitutional liberties. Justification of executive disobedience to court orders as a protection of national interest is abominable. “This is a deliberate ploy to bend the law and suspend the 1999 Constitution. We ask, does President Muhammadu Buhari have any legal capacity to declare anyone as a criminal? Disobedience to court orders is an act of executive rascality in the country,” the group added.

I Caught My Wife With A Man Pants Down In Our Bedroom!

The evil of infidelity has wrecked another home again. The 18-year-old marriage between Mr. Aremu Issa and his wife, Fatimoh, has finally hit the rocks over allegations of sexual recklessness, infidelity, fighting, etc.

Probably sensing danger, Fatimoh approached a Grade A Customary Court in Ojo, Lagos seeking for the dissolution of their marriage. She claimed her husband was in the habit of beating her, threatening her life and depriving she and their children of care.

Insisting that she no longer love her husband again, the mother of five narrated how their problem started: “I met my husband at Ojo Alaba in 1994. We started as friends and later we got married. But he never told me that he was already married to another woman.

"When I found out, I was angry with him and contemplated quitting the union but my family members kicked against it, so I had to accept my fate.

"After some time, he married two other women; thus increasing his number of wives to four; in same house. Yet, he would never take care of our needs or that of our children. He also had a penchant for beating women. He is an unrepentant woman beater. He beats me into coma most times and in many cases, our fights usually get settled by the police," she said.

Fatimoh disclosed that she had parked out of their matrimonial home for fear of her life, and pleaded with the court to grant her prayers and dissolve the marriage.

However, Olufamous gathered that the story changed when Mr. Issa was called to the box to state his own side of the story. The husband described his estranged wife as a cheap liar.

Hear him: “Our landlord gave us quit notice in our former house because of Fatimoh’s fondness for brining in several men into the compound as well as her habit of fighting and stirring up quarrels amongst the neighbours. She even went as far as fighting the landlords’ son.

"I never took the rumors about her love for anything in trousers serious until we moved into our personal house. I came back one night to meet a man naked in her bedroom; she told me the man came to help her do something. But her excuse was baseless because the man was naked with only his boxer shorts on. I quickly seized his clothes and he ran out of the house semi naked. Then I faced my wife, we fought seriously...

"I have been trying to be patient and tolerant but she seemed to be taking advantage of that as my weakness. Since she has dragged me to the court seeking the dissolution of the union, I can’t force her to live with me. I am equally tired of this our absurd union. I want it severed but I want custody of all my children."

gathered that members of the court headed by Alhaji T.A. Said observed that the marriage had broken beyond repair. Their union was dissolved while Mr. Issa and Fatimoh were directed to go to a family court to appeal for the custody of their kids.

Ben Ford, who ditched his wife when he met his mother Kim West after 30 years, claims what the couple are doing 'isn't incest'

Kim West, 51, and son Ben Ford, 32, have spoken to the New Day about their relationship
A mother reunited with the son she gave up for adoption 30 years ago says now they’re in love - and trying for a baby together.
Kim West, 51, has been in a relationship with her biological son Ben Ford, 32, for two years and believe they are ‘meant to be’ after she was forced to give him up for adoption just a week after he was born.
But the couple, who say their sex life is ‘incredible’ and are planning to get married, insist their relationship is not incest, the New Day reports.
Instead they claim it is ‘Genetic Sexual Attraction’, a term used for relatives who feel sexual attraction for each other after meeting as adults.
The couple were brought together after Ben, who was living in the US, sent his England-born mum a letter out of the blue in 2013.

Two years before Ben had married his wife Victoria, who he later split up with to be in a relationship with his mum.

Kim gave up Ben for adoption when he was just a week old and they were only reunited 30 years later

The pair began exchanging phone calls before agreeing to meet up, Kim saying it was like they had ‘known each other for years’.
Interior designer Kim started to realise her attraction to her son and found herself having 'sexy dreams' about him.
Feeling confused about the attraction, Kim decided to look it up on the internet and came across an article on Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA), and felt like a weight had lifted.
The pair agreed to meet at a hotel where they ordered alcohol and after a bottle of champagne shared their first kiss.

Ben told her he felt relieved and that he had stopped having feelings for his wife before the pair went on to have sex a number of times.
Three days later Ben told a disgusted Victoria he was leaving her for his mum and the couple flew to Michigan, where they had help from another GSA couple in setting up a new life.
Kim told the New Day sex with Ben was "incredible and mind-blowing".
She said: "This is not incest, it is GSA. We are like peas in a pod and meant to be together.
"I know people will say we're disgusting, that we should be able to control our feelings, but when you're hit by a love so consuming you are willing to give up everything for it, you have to fight for it.
"It's a once in a lifetime chance and something Ben and I are not willing to walk away from."

40-Years-Old Mother Set To Marry Own Son-In Zimbabwe (See Photo Of Them Kissing

A 40-year-old mother is set to marry her own son.  The woman and her son claim to be in love with each other.  And now they want to take their relationship to the next level and get married considering that the mother, Betty Mbereko (from Mwenezi in Masvingo) is now six months pregnant and expecting her son’s child and her grand child.
Mbereko, 40,  has been a widow for the past 12 years and has been living with her 23-years-old son  Farai Mbereko.
She confirms that she is six month pregnant and that she has decided it is better to “marry” her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says are coveting her.
Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier.
She said after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.

“Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong.

“Let me enjoy the products of my sweat,” she told the village court council.
Farai said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the ilobola balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents.
“I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off,” he said. “It is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant.
Otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity.” But local headman Nathan Muputirwa says: “We cannot allow this to happen in our village, mashura chaiwo aya, (This is a bad omen indeed). In the past they would have to be killed but today we cannot do it because we are afraid of the police.”

He warned them to immediately break off their marriage or leave his village. They chose the latter and have  since left the village for an undisclosed  destination.
