Madonna is standing by her show-closing Prince tribute at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
In a new Instagram post, the 57-year-old star fired back at BET for a critical, since-deleted tweet they shared during last Sunday's show.
"Wearing the jacket Prince gave me back in the day without permission from BET," Madonna wrote alongside a laughing emoji. "Lol! God Bless America."
In the image, Madonna posed next to singer Marilyn wearing a floral motorcycle jacket and matching hat.
During the Billboard Music Awards, Madonna sat on a purple throne before performing a rendition of "Nothing Compares 2 U." She was later joined onstage by Stevie Wonder, who helped her sing the late artist's hit "Purple Rain."
Several stars, including Questlove, came to Madonna's defense, with the Roots musician writing on Twitter, "Every Prince rendition will not be a life changing orgasmic xperience. Just to SING his work is brave enough...But the point is let's not get ugly with playing the 'Prince would and wouldn't approve' game."
